NO MORE RED CARD |

(Romans 5: 13, “To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone's account where there is no law.”)
A red card is a type of penalty card that is shown in many sports after the rules are violated. It most commonly indicates a serious offense and often results in a player being permanently suspended, ejected or dismissed from the game. It mostly causes personal embarrassment to the offenders or supporters.
At the beginning of world cup football tournament in 1930, there was no yellow card neither red. The objectives of FIFA body who organized this tournament are to heal the wound which 1st world war caused the whole world; the competition is to bring people together, to build good relationships in love and unity, between the countries of the world.
When the above objectives were to be jeopardized by unwanted behavior of some self- centre players, therefore, in order to bring sanity to the competition, in 1970, the organizer (FIFA) introduced the yellow card & the red card. These were introduced to check or to control the immoral or unsporting behavior of the players on playing ground. The referee is the person responsible for enforcing the Law of the Game during the match. He is the only official on the pitch with the authority to start, to stop play and impose disciplinary.
Good news for the players: The good news is that the red card is not for any player that complies with the code of conduct of the tournament.
God created a perfect world “God saw all that He had made, and He said it was good”, In the beginning, God of love created the world for His glory, all things were made perfect, including the human being, he created us in his own image (Genesis 1:27). God created us to glorify him and to enjoy Him forever, that is why He put our forefather Adam and Eve in the Holy place called Garden of Eden where God himself will be caring for them. There, they failed to comply with the condition given to them by God, by the unwanted behavior of their self- centre. Then the world becomes polluted with their greediness and selfishness behaviors, up to this generation, which I and you are part of it.
God introduces red card: - God’s creature violated His instruction by eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. (Genesis 2:17). “So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.” (Genesis 3: 23). Then God applied Genesis 2:27 and 3:19b) on His creature, “but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (3:19b) “For you were made from dust, and to dust you will return." Then the whole world inherited death through Adam and Eve. As a result of sin, the wickedness of the human race increases and every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart become increasingly evil all the time (Genesis 6:5). That is why no one can escape the penalty of physical death up to this generation. “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned” (Romans 5:12). The judgments of God are true and righteous; all men inherited physical death because death is the wages of the sins.
Obviously, ever since the human being cannot live a perfect life, even the introduction of Moses law does not make them compatible with nature of God because they are no more righteous.
One cannot imagine the modern football competition of this day without the yellow and the red card, while some players who suppose to be good representatives or ambassadors of their countries are turned to hooligans on the field. Instead of enjoying the grace of being chosen among many others that are better than them. They become fools on the field at the end they get the red card and they are sent out from the field or band them from continuing the competition.
The good news is that the red card is not for a good player who respects the rules and regulations of the football match on the field. Then the players, their supporters, crowd that watching the competition and sponsors will enjoy the objectives of competition. Either they lose or win but they will be credited to be a good ambassador for their countries.
Furthermore, let us imagine how this world will look like if our God the creator does not impose physical death upon His creature, in this frustrated world, that is full of disharmony, discord, disobedience, immorality, ungratefulness, disunity, hatred, impatience, brutality, and pride that are not complying with the nature of God. Even the churches which Christ used blood to sanctify, who suppose to put on the nature of God are not left out of these immoralities or atrocities. "It is written," he said to them, "My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you are making it 'a den of robbers.” (Matthew 21:13), Christian should think of this. (Matthew 7.21)
Like the referee in the centre of the field, Jesus Christ becomes an intermediary between God and the human being. Not to judge but to unite us with God, so that we can regain the lost kingdom. (John3:16)
Christ’s death and resurrection reveal God’s image to the world. Glory is to the loving God who sent Jesus Christ His son, to live the perfect life we could not and die the death our sins deserve. In His birth, suffering on the cross, death, and resurrection, God provided the only means of atonement for human sin
When we accept Jesus Christ as our savior, submit to His authority and do His commandments, (John 14:15, Matthew 22:36-40), then our righteousness comes from Him. “But the righteous person will live by his faithfulness.” We claim eternal life which is superseding the physical death that the red card brought to the world because Jesus Christ is super – superior to the red card.
Prayer
Almighty God, only you are Holy. Please forgive me for my foolish behavior. Let the Holy Spirit always remind me that you are the source of all things, and make me a humble servant that I may not be a victim of your red card, in Jesus name- Amen

Do this in remembrance of me.
(Luke 19d)
“Taking part in the Holy Communion
or the Lord’s Supper is your right”
or the Lord’s Supper is your right”

A man was critically sick; dying in the hospital, sat beside him on his bed was his elder son. His father told him, I will soon go on a long journey, go and tell my Pastor to prepare my food and drink and bring them to me here in the hospital so the that I will have the ability and strength to go on this journey.
This was surprised to his son who was ignorant of what the man was saying. He responded, says papa do you know what you are saying, yesterday my mother prepared you, your favorite meal but you refused to eat it you said you do not have appetite, likewise this morning how come now it is your pastor that will prepare your food and what type of the journey you are talking about on your sick bed. His father told him to “go and do what is right for me”. The pastor who was not a novice to the message quickly respond to the message went to the hospital and gave the Lord’s Supper to the man. Immediately, the man received the Holy Communion, he gave up his ghost.
A similar message was sent by God to the Israelite through Moses, in the eve of the day of their departure from Egypt to the Promised Land. God told the Jews, to celebrate their Passover Feast in remembrance of God's deliverance from death. Exodus 12:1-11 "From now on, this month will be the first month of the year for you. Announce to the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each family must choose a lamb or a young goat for a sacrifice, one animal for each household………….."These are your instructions for eating this meal: Be fully dressed, wear your sandals, and carry your walking stick in your hand. Eat the meal with urgency, for this is the LORD's Passover.
In obedience to the God’s instruction: “Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover." (Luke 22:8). Right before Jesus’ death, He instituted a special meal for his church to observe. Historically, this meal was called Holy Communion or the Lord’s Supper. This meal consists of the consecrated bread and wine. The Two items use for the Holy Communion—the bread represents Jesus’ body that was scourged and broken before and during His crucifixion, while wine represents His shed blood. This represents the greatest expression of God’s loves to His people. In Luke 22.20, Jesus tells us that the cup is the “new convent in my blood”, while the apostle Paul tells us that the blood of Jesus brings forgiveness of sins. Hebrews 9:14-15, Ephesians1:7)
The Holy Communion is God’s ordained authority which Jesus passed to His disciples for continuity, then the disciples delivered it to the Churches, “For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you”
(1 Corinthians 11:23) Therefore it is a blessing to be received by those who believe in our Lord Jesus Christ.
When the Church which is the community of Christian, gathers together as a family in doing this, its objective is the transmission of the gospel through ordinary signs of the consecrated bread and wine, also in recollection of His life, death and resurrection which is the basic base of our faith. Their gathering should be in the unity of purpose which is love in Christ. But the individual’s responsibility during the period of Holy Communion is to confess his or her sins with the open-minded so that the Holy Spirit will perfect all the other necessary things in the life of the person. Remember what happened to Judas Iscariot, one of the disciples of Jesus Christ who eats the Lord’s Supper with the mind of the betrayer “As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him.” (John 13:27)
Conclusion: whenever the service of the Holy Communion or the Lord’s Supper is going in the Church in according to the Biblical ways of life, it is obedience to the commandment of Jesus Christ “Do this in remembrance of me.” Whoever that has been baptized is qualified to partake in it because it is a Spiritual dividend of baptism. If you are one of the Christian that your habit is to boycot the Lord’s Supper, you should put an end to it. If it is not necessary, Jesus Himself wouldn’t take part in it.
Henceforth, taking part in the Holy Communion or the Lord’s Supper is your right. Since you do not know the time the owner of your souls will ask for it, because just as it is necessary to nourish our bodies with material food, so also it is necessary to nourish our souls with spiritual food. Our Divine Savior so loved us that He gave us His own body and blood as food for our souls, so that we can have the strength to continue the journey to the end.
Prayer
Lord Jesus the owner of my soul, I thank you and glorify your mighty name to make me be worthy and qualified to be partaking in your spiritual meal. Forgive me my rebellion against you. I bow before you in humility and ask you to examine my heart. Let the Holy Spirit show me and teach me anything that is not pleasing to You that I’m doing. Help me to put all my trust on you throughout my life. Amen

Baptism
is
a priority for the Christian

"On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it." – Luke 11:28
A new-born baby's skin is soft and delicate; to prevent infection proper skin care and bathing with warm water can help maintain the health of the baby's skin. This is to be done by a midwife or experienced woman. Then, the baby can be allowed to mix with the family and being carried by the public.
You cannot join the family of God, without being born into it. Then, the day someone repented of his sins, turned to Christ and accepted Him as his Lord and Savior, is the day he/she becomes a new baby to the God's family.
A new born-again Christian's life is like a new-born baby, that his/her life is fragile, obviously, if care is not taken and not being properly initiated into the real God's family his faith will be put into the danger.
Therefore, Baptism is the spiritual method of initiating a newborn Christian to the family of God, A Christian religious rite of immersing them in water which symbolizes purification or regeneration and admission to the Church of God.
Anybody that is preparing for baptism needs to undergo a thorough Biblical study, though, baptism is highly controversial and many people misunderstand it. The purpose of this study is to discover what the Bible says about the baptism. Why should a person be baptized in water? All these will prepare the person for the challenges that his faith will be facing in the future.
Though, the salvation is by grace through the gift of faith in Jesus Christ who is the architect of our salvation. Our salvation is not the result of baptism. But baptism is the result of obedience to His commandment. Jesus says "be baptized" as a faithful servant you need to obey your master. Even, Jesus Himself was baptized, not as a sinner but for the fulfillment of all righteousness. ‘Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." (Matthew 3:15)
Baptism is a public confession of our faith and commitment to Jesus Christ; this should be done in the presence of the congregation, that is to say, I am now committed to the Lord Jesus. I quit my old way of life that is controlled by the sins.
To the surprise, some people who called themselves Christian do not know the meaning of Holy Trinity. Going through the baptism study will allow the person to truly understand the basic Christian faith and the divinity of God. Christian believes that the one God eternal exist in three persons: God the father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)
Why the water immersion baptism so important and recommended? Immersion baptism is a method of baptism whereby the whole body of the person will completely be immersed in the water. It is distinguished from the baptism of sprinkling water. It's purely the example that Jesus Christ laid down for His believers. He passed through this method of baptism during His lifetime.
When a person is being fully immersed in the water, the person is identifying with Jesus' physical death. Immersion baptism symbolizes being buried with the Lord Jesus Christ. Immersion baptism is being baptized into His death on the cross, and we are no longer slaves to the sin. (See Romans 6:3-7).
When the person is pulled out of the water, he/she is symbolically resurrected, raised to new life in Christ, be with Him forever and belong to the family of our loving God.
Water baptism also illustrates the spiritual cleansing we experience when we are saved; just as water cleanses the flesh, so the Holy Spirit cleanses our hearts when we trust Christ.
To be baptized, the person must be matured enough to use his mouth to make a credible confession of his faith. Baptism should not be imposed on anybody; it is voluntary and personal to the individual, no limited age, but the person must have the knowledge of the gospel and must accept that he is a sinner who can only be saved by the Jesus Christ not by his own goodness. For these reasons baby or infant is not qualified to be baptized.
Conclusion, any Christian that has the opportunity to read this article but not yet baptized should go and submit himself to the qualified minister of God. He must never compare himself with someone who does not in the position of having the opportunity to be baptized after accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior. For example, a soldier who accepts Jesus Christ in the war front or someone inside the vehicle, then the vehicle has an accident and the person dies.
Remember that Jesus Christ will never command us to do what is not necessary. Jesus said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it." – Luke 11:28, and "Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them." (John 14:21)
Once more baptism is a priority for the Christian according to the Scripture recommendation

Lord Jesus Christ, I acknowledge You as my sure foundation. My security and hope are you, help me to put my trust in your words throughout my life. Amen

AN EXPOSITION ON THE WATCH WORD FOR 2011
Once again in the traditional way, the highest authority of the church has passed this year 2011 watch word which isPSALM 16:1 to all the believers of the Jesus Christ for their daily uses. As we known that is the way of summarising entire Holy Bible in the way the Holy Spirit has directed them, so that it will be easy for us to apply for our daily lives.
Therefore, by making an exposition of it, it will help us to understand the spiritual way of applying it in our day by day life through the whole year.
The phase 1 of the Psalm 62 can’t be isolated from the entire body of the Psalm, but rather than see it as part and parcel of the whole body.
In order to make the WATCH WORD be meaningful for it purpose and to be useful for the situation we are living today, it need to be joined together to the entire body of the Psalm and even referring to other phases in the Bible.
Brief description of the entire Psalm 62.
First, we need to say something about the type of Scripture that we have in Psalm 62. The Bible contains two basic types of writing. They are narrative and poetry. Therefore, like the other psalms, Psalm 62 is a poem, but looking at the whole book of psalms they were written in several different forms. Two of the major forms were, first, "psalms of lament" where the author was expressing an outward sorrow and, second, "psalms of praise" where the author was offering praise and adulation to his Lord
What type of psalm is Psalm 62?
When you read it, do you sense that the author is lamenting over some great sadness that he might be feeling, or do you think that he is expressing some kind of praise to his God?
“How long will you attack a man? You shall be slain, all of you, Like a leaning wall and a tottering fence. They only consult to cast him down from his high position; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, But they curse inwardly. Selah” Psalm 62:3-4
These verses 3 & 4 of psalm put light to the situation that the author (King David) was being passed through in the hand of his enemies that time (a crises period), the verses do not clearly describe the conflict, though, we cannot definitely know. But either way, the author is talking about people who could probably be considered the enemy. However, while writing about his enemy, the psalmist is not seen lamenting to the Lord over the situation. Instead of complaining, he seems to be rejoicing in the victory that is his through his God. “My soul, wait silently for God alone. For my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.” Verses 5-7
Therefore, this psalm seems to be more of a psalm of praise and confidence than a psalm of lament. By looking at this Psalm another angle, the psalmist seems to be prophesying about the future we are now passing through. When he says, ‘From Him comes my salvation’, ‘He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense;, My soul, wait silently for God alone, and ‘He only is my rock and my salvation; that he was talking about the architect of our faith who is Jesus Christ. So this make me group the Psalm into sub three sections.
1. The test of faith, verses 1–4
2. The time of faith, verses 5–8
3. The triumph of faith, verses 9–12
Some of the ways to Apply Psalm 62:1 for our daily use
Truly my soul silently waits for God: from Him comes my salvation. I Psalm 62:1- has four specific applications that we can apply to our life. First, David tells us be sincere in trusting God, patently in waiting for Him, our salvation comes from God, and he tells us that we can find rest in Him.
According to the new year message of Pastor Peter Anifowose of C.A.C. France Special district. ‘Sign, Season , days and year’ that in this year certainly we will see signs either good or bad, likewise we will experience a season which a tribulation may comes and days of joy or sorrow may come.
Remember my brethren the days and season of anxiety are head, when it may seem that our hopes are chartered, when we may be facing persecution, tribulations or any of cater trophies that may be threaten our faith .
But remember what Jesus Christ says in Matthew 11:28-30"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Turn your eyes on to the Jesus Christ; worship Him. He will never fall or fail. He gives life balance, security. But when we make anything else our goal, frustration and defeat are inevitable
Conclusion.
Truly my soul silently wait for God
In the means, of answering of prayer, for performance of promises, and for deliverance from enemies, and out of every troubles, focus your eyes on Jesus Christ, trust Him, even His silence mean a victory for you, He gives everlasting joy. As you put your faith on Him, but do not fail to give your LOVE to others. He has perfected your salvation.
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
"He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." (I John 5:12)
"And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13

The Ascension of Jesus Christ
“After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.” (Act 1:9)
Introduction : “Ascension holds that Jesus' body ascended to heaven, in the presence of his apostles following his resurrection, and that in heaven he sits at the Father'sright hand”
It was the fulfillment of revelation of Prophet Isaiah “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphs, each with six----" Isaiah 6:1-3
This is commonly known as the Ascension, which is celebrated each year 40 days after Easter, always on a Thursday
Why was Jesus taken up in to the Heaven? Firstly, according to the Isaiah 6:1-13 we can see that the ascension of Jesus Christ proved to us that, He is the eternal Son of God, and also to confirm the value of His death. Also it shows that Jesus Christ was glorified in the heaven as our victorious Savior, who ascended into the very presence of God.
To receive His Promise:
But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. John 16: 7-8
Christ's ascension to heaven was the signal that His followers were to receive the promised blessing. For this they were to wait before they start their work. When Christ passed within the heavenly gates, He was enthroned amidst the adoration of the angels. As soon as this ceremony was completed, the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples in rich currents, and Christ was indeed glorified, Therefore, without the ascension there may not be the Pentecost day and the authority of Jesus Christ can not be received by the disciples as it was promised during the time of great commission, see Matthew 28: 16-20, and how it was fulfilled in the day of Pentecost (Act 2:1-4)
The Disciples worshiped in His name The first thing the disciples did after Jesus had ascended was to worship him. In fact the chief characteristic of Christians is that they call on the name of the LordJesus” Then they returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day's walk from the city. When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, …...............They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers” Act 1:12-14
Paul writes that ‘at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow . . . and . . . confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father‘.
Jesus ascended to aid us in believing: Thename of Jesus Christ was only echoed in the land of Jews and the news of his resurrection was limited to that surrounding, for example before this period, when Jesus was in Jerusalem, nobody can see him in Galilee or in Judea neither in Nazareth, but immediate he was lifted to the heaven his name have being caring to all places, now as we can see it today that is His name is visible in the heart/mind of his believers, so that we might believe that He is always with us. His ascension to heaven has given the believers (Christians) the hope of the coming back of Jesus Christ (His second coming) to take us to his kingdom, “"Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." Act 1:11 Furthermore, my fathers, mothers, brothers and sister in Christ it is for you and me to believe in the ascension of our Lord Jesus as was written in the scripture. Jesus is always with us. He attends all of our worship services. He comes to our Bible classes and Congregational Assemblies He hears our prayers personally, and answers them personally. You know that "He sees you when you're sleeping. He knows when you're awake. He knows if you've been bad or good. It is true -- about Jesus. He promised it, “Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the world”.
He is watching over us.
