Matthew 5:48, Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Jesus wants us to choose spiritual life. He assures us, "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing" John 6:63, The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. What is the most important thing in your life? What is even more important than food, drink, clothes, friends, family and a place to stay? What is more important than education and a job? Most of us value these highly. Yet they help life only during our stay in this fleshly body, which is all too brief. See Psalm 39:4–5, Show me? O Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life. You have made my days a mere hand-breath; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Each man’s life is but a breath. Read also James 4:13–14, Now listen, you who say, Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money, Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life ? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. All flesh is like grass. Isaiah 40:6–7, A voice says, Cry out. And I said, What shall I cry? All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field. The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the Lord blow on them. Surely the people are grass.
No matter how young or healthy. As much as we love and respect parents, we must realize that "flesh gives birth to flesh" From our fleshly parents we receive fleshly life, which lasts a few short years, and then is lost, young age or old. One of us will stand at a funeral, the other will be laid in the ground. "The dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it" Ecclesiastes 12:7, And the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
This is why Ecclesiastes 7:2, urges us to be wise before our turn comes.
See John 11:25–26, Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this? See also John 1:12–13, Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God – children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
What we hopelessly call death or pass away becomes our doorway into eternal happiness. The One who welcomes us home is our Creator and much more. He is our Father–through Jesus Christ.
The perfection of God is also one of His attributes. No matter how we feel. Only in God and in the things which come from God are things as they really ought to be. He is complete and without fault. God is not just bigger than everyone and everything else. God is perfect in everything that He does.
Jesus teaches, "No one is good, except God alone" Mark 10:18, Why do you call me good? Jesus answered. No one is good – except God alone. We must learn from Jesus about our human goodness, we hear many people say, "God do these to me because I do this and that « See John 3 :19, This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. See also, Romans 3:9–12, What shall we conclude then? Are we any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin. As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one ; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.
One of the huge differences between God and human being is that, God knows even the secret things, that God chooses to reveal to us. Deuteronomy 29:29, The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.
Many times, when we are confused by the choices we have to make or the problems we face. Life seems hard and we don’t know what is the best thing to do to solve our problems. It is in times like this that the truth of God’s omniscient ought to be an encouragement to us. God knows everything perfectly and He will have a solution to all our problems.
Our times are in His hands. Please let’s make this decision today and surrender all to Him.
The arm of the Lord represents His salvation through Jesus Christ.
