The main theme of Gospel
(THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN)
It is important to know that the Bible uses at least three different names for the same kingdom
1. In Matthew 13:33 – Kingdom of heaven.
2. In Luke 13:20–Kingdom of God.
3. In Ephesians 5:5 - Kingdom of Christ / God.
Therefore, « Kingdom of heaven, » « Kingdom of God » and « Kingdom of Christ » are just three different ways of talking about Jesus’ Kingdom. They are in fact three different names for the same Spiritual Kingdom.
Few countries today have a king or a queen. In those which do, the authority of the king or queen is usually shared with an elected group of legislators. In time past (when writing Bible) this was not so. The king often had absolute power. In other words the authority of the King was total.
Jesus Christ, the King, was anointed with the Holy Spirit. The symbols of His rule are also spiritual. Hebrews 1 : 8, But about the Son he says, “Your throne , O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom. Read also Hebrews 2:7, You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor.
People like the Jews of the past were awaiting for a Messiah with an earthly kingdom, the Kingdom of Christ is different, because the teaching of Jesus referred to a Spiritual Kingdom.
The majority of those who have not yet been saved by Jesus, are not demon possessed, but follow the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air (Satan) the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. Ephesians 2:2, In which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
A person’s life can either be occupied by Christ or by something else, but never by both at once. The Lord’s Prayer makes this plain. See Matthew 6:10, Your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
The Lord’s prayer teaches us that the Kingdom of heaven is set up on earth when Christ is on the throne and ruling in the lives of those who do the will of Jesus the King, instead of their own will.
My point, think of example from your own experience of ways in which you have found out what the will of God is for you, and also ask the Lord to reveal to you areas in your life not fully surrendered to Him. Prayerfully put this right and perhaps be ready to testify to this and share.
Remember, when the Kingdom of heaven comes in power into our lives, and we let Jesus rule over every part, wonderful things begin to happen - Read Romans 14:17, For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
May you be blessed in Jesus name.
