THE HELPER SUITABLE
The Lord God said. It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him. (Genesis 2: 18)
A helper suitable for you. How, you are called to love imperfect someone, just as God planned, you are not perfect but God does love you. The first quality which leads to happiness is our willingness to recognize that we are spiritually poor. You are just like a child born to a family he/she automatically becomes a part of that family he or she receives food and drink and care and grow up healthy and strong, the same is true worldly or spiritually growth. See John 5: 7 – 12, it says, Sir, the invalid replied, I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me. Then Jesus said to him, get up! Pick up your mat and walk. At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath, and so the Jews said to the man who had been healed, It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat. But he replied, The man who made me well said to me, Pick up your mat and walk. So they asked him, Who is this fellow who told you to pick it up and walk? See also John 6: 35, Then Jesus declared, I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. Also Luke 18: 9–14 says, to some who were confident of own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: God, I thank you that I am not like other men–robbers, evildoers, and adulterers – or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get. But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, God, have mercy on me, a sinner. I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
We want to experience human love and trust and joy, if, we should know, we are not ourselves by ourselves, we do not become more human or holly ourselves because of the number of houses, cars or academic degrees and wives or husbands that we have but we will only be secure in Christ and in life when we know the true meaning of Christian freedom.
Jesus said one must know God and the book of Jeremiah 17:7 says. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. Hebrews 3: 4 says, “For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of every thing”
Looking backward, arrest progress. See lot’s wife in Genesis 19:26 But Lot’s looked back, and she became a pillar of salt. See how looking Christ-ward saves. John 3:14 - 18 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. See also Mark 11: 22–24. Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. In Matthew 7:11, it says, If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
Christ made these promises to His first disciples. Yet He deliberately chose wording, “anyone” and “everyone» who asks - that widens the promise to all His disciples. As true followers, disciples avoid sinful habits that «hinder” effective prayer. See 1st Peter 3: 7 and 12. Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. Also James 4:3 says, When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
Our relationship with God is one of faith. We cannot see Him, but we believe in Him. 2nd Corinthians 5: 7 says, We live by faith, not by sight. 1st Peter 1: 18 – 20 says, For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.
Your helper in all things is Jesus Christ whether in body or not.
