Did you just hear the word of God, or really give space to the word of God? Most people don’t know how to read or listen to the scripture because the major parts of their attention in the church or in a revival meetings is taken up by thinking of what to gain in term of materials and health. They pay more attention to what the person is saying not what the scripture says.
What do you do in a situation that is not the way you would like it to be? What the scripture says is to put your trust in God and learn to adjust to it, that is to cope.
The Spirit of God moved. Genesis 1:2, Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. You must move with God’s spirit. If you’re going to move with Him now, you’ll have to be willing to leave your comfort zone, abandon your pre-conceived ideas about how things ought be done just because you became christian, get ready for new challenges and growth-makers on your journey.
During the Bible time, the disciples left everything to walk with somebody they didn’t even comprehend well.
They’d dreamed of a messiah who would establish a kingdom and overthrown the government of Rome, so His crucifixion blew their minds. So did His resurrection. Because now they had to preach a message that would cost them their lives. (How did you understand the preachers of today churches with what was in the beginning of the Gospel?) When you decide to follow Jesus you give up the right to know (1) Where that decision will lead you. (2) How much will it cost you. (3) The extent to which it will change you.
Some people didn’t know that submission does not imply lesser value, inadequacy or inferiority in any sense, lack of these that make every person formed his own church. Jesus submitted to Jewish and Roman rulers. See Matthew 17:24–27, After Jesus and His disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax came to Peter and asked, "Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?" "Yes he does," he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus said to him. "But so that we may not offend them, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you cash; open its mouth and you will find a four -drachman coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours." Were those rulers good or better than Jesus? Were they greater or more important than He? Absolutely not. Jesus was God in flesh. Though far greater. He willingly became a servant, which included fitting into His roles in society. See Philippians 2:7–8, But made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled himself and became obedient to death–even death on a cross! Read also John 14:21–23 and 31, Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him. Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world? Jesus replied, If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to Him and make our home with Him. But the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me.
Dear brothers and sisters give space for the word of God in you and let it work.
God bless you.
