JESUS CHRIST IS THE SAME YESTERDAY AND TODAY AND FOREVER
Hebrews 13:8–9 says, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by ceremonial foods, which are of no value to those who eat them. See also Hebrews 13:15-16, it says, through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise – the fruit of lips that confess His name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for such sacrifices God is pleased.
The fact that God is not directly seen does not have to lead to doubt.
Rulers who have tried to make people deny God have ended in failure.
The wind is unseen. Does anyone really doubt that wind exists?
Though God is invisible, we know He is there because of the results of His powerful work. We know of the wind’s presence by its effect as it moves dust and leaves. In a far greater way, we know things about God by the effect of His work around us. God has made it clear to those who are willing to look.
God can see what you cannot see. Think of the person Jesus used to rescue you, bring you to life, where were you before? What if that person had not cared about you? What if no one had taken the time and trouble to become your « father or mother » in the faith? They need your love, your positive influence and your shining example. See Colossians 1:3–6, it says, we always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints – the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about in the word of truth, the gospel that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all its truth. See 2nd Corinthians 10:16–18, it says, so that we can preach the gospel in the regions beyond you. For we do not want to boast about work already done in another man’s territory. But, let him who boasts boast in the Lord. For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
See the following: - (1) 2nd Timothy 2: 24–25 says, and the Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose Him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a
knowledge of the truth. (2) Colossians 4:5–6, Paul says, be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. (3) 1st Peter 3 : 15 says, but in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
Does this sound very war- like? This careful teaching with « gentleness and respect » See Revelation 17 : 14, it says, they will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings – and with Him will be His called, chosen and faithful followers.
The devil seeks to attack us to eat (devour) us. How should we react to this threat? See 1st Peter 5:8, it says, be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. See also Ephesians 6:14, it says, stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place.
Against which enemy do we struggle and what does this say about humans who oppose us? See Ephesians 6:11–12, it says, put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
No one would dare say that a house came about by accident. Its order and design show beyond doubt that it had a builder. See Hebrews 3:4, it says, for every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.
May the Lord Jesus Christ be the builder of our house.
