ALL MEN FEEL INSECURE AND WEAK SOME- HOW
Read John 2:24–25, But Jesus would not entrust Himself to them, for He knew all men. He did not need man’s testimony about man, for He knew what was in a man.
The fearful man uses a series of mental adjustments to avoid facing a threatening environment. Some of these adjustments are defensive and are aggressive
.
Some believers are afraid of psychology and think that believers should stay away from such things. But, the truth of the matter is that knowledge of psychology is very necessary today. Because many young people study psychology in high schools and you should be able to talk to them.
It helps us to know ourselves better and to understand others. Also, it is important to realize that all men underneath the surface feel insecure and weak. Reactions are striking out against others in most of our prayers and crying out for help, both come from the same source that is fear
.
In Matthew chapter 14, Peter in the water and Herod with John the Baptist. Read verses 1–5, At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the reports about Jesus, and he said to his attendants. This is John the Baptist; he has risen from the dead! That is why miraculous powers are at work in him. Now Herod has arrested John and bound him and put him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, for John had been saying to him: It is not lawful for you to have her. Herod wanted to kill John, but he was afraid of the people, because they considered him a prophet. Read also verses 26 – 30, when the disciple saw Him walking on the lake, they were terrified. It’s a ghost, they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: Take courage! It is I. don’t be afraid. Lord if it’s you, Peter replied, tell me to come to you on the water. Come, He said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, Lord save me!
Many people fear the occult, or the spirit world. As a result of this fear, some people wear charms or go to Vigils and Mountains to keep away evil spirits or to give them good luck. Even, others become involved in spiritism or other kinds of superstitions.
We must understand that everyone experiences fear but not everyone reacts in the same way.
Actions and Reactions:-
The fact that you can see a small speck of sawdust in your brother’s or sister’s eye ought to lead you to a careful search in your own life to see if you are guilty of the same sin. See Matthew 7:1-3, Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eyes and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye ?
When someone places a sin which is hidden in their own life upon another person by criticizing them, projection has taken place. In this way they may ignore the problem in their own life. (Forger, and his or her environment)
When the prophet Nathan told king David about the rich man who had stolen a poor man’s only lamb, David became quite angry. But, he did not realize that he had committed this same kind of sin himself when he had taken another man’s wife.
Another point is an unconscious way of making oneself seems to be right. The person who rationalizes really believes that he is giving the true reasons for his actions when, in fact, they are FALSE reasons. See 1st John 1 : 8, If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. Also see Proverbs 22:13, The sluggard says, There is a lion outside! or, I will be murdered in the streets ! Another points can be found in 1st Kings 21 : 1 – 4, Sometime later there was an incident involving a vineyard belonging to Naboth the Jezreelite. The vineyard was in Jezreel, close to the palace of Ahab king of Samaria. Ahab said to Naboth, Let me have your vineyard to use for a vegetable garden, since it is close to my palace. In exchange I will give you a better vineyard or, if you prefer, I will pay you whatever it is worth. But Naboth replied, The Lord forbid that I should give you the inheritance of my fathers. So Ahab went home, sullen and angry because Naboth the Jezreelite had said, I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers. He lay on his bed sulking and refused to eat. Read Jeremiah 1 : 6, Ah, Sovereign Lord, I said, I do not know how to speak ; I am only a child. See also Judges 6 : 15, But Lord, Gideon asked, how can I save Israel ? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.
Believers sometimes use regression to avoid responsibilities in the family, society or in the church. This is sad indeed !
Read Hebrews 5 : 13 – 14, Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
May you be blessed in Jesus name.
